“Your Taste Is High Fashion” Campaign Summary
Amidst the ever changing and fast pace fashion industry birthed the “Your Taste Is High Fashion” Campaign. Though the standards, stigmas and trends of this industry keep a vast majority of the population within the reigns of what is considered “High Fashion”, our approach to this campaign was to revolutionise the idea of “High Fashion” through visual representations of everyday life. Stripping away the reigns and opening eyes to see the value in ones personalised taste. The individualism and unconventional style of each person, without any influence of trend or stigma is what we saw to be “High Fashion”.
After establishing the cause and theme of the campaign we, the creative production team of 2024 wanted to communicate this ground breaking ideology in a subtle, yet impactful way. We decided to journey through five (5) different categories or styles of life; Street, Classy/Formal, Preppy/Student, Smart Casual and Alternate. Our aim became clear thereafter, to target the emotions and behavioural patterns of persons and outfit styling of each of these categories. Capturing the mundane tasks of everyday life paired with the necessary garments to perform such tasks, we were able to communicate and connect an individuals lifestyle with their personalised taste in clothing.
Classy/Formal
The classy aesthetic and style is one that is timeless, often found in settings such as business meetings, dinners or any other formal functions. This lifestyle and way of dressing has been a cornerstone and a set standard in fashion from the days of old to modern days .The message of elegance, sophistication and high standard is what we aimed to convey through the visual representation labeled “VDV Rosé”
Smart Casual
Smart Casual or work wear has taken the spotlight in the fields/careers of most individuals’ day to day lives. This particular style of wear is a highly recognized and requested look among many entering the labour force or those seeking interest in the cooperate sector (especially in Trinidad & Tobago). This way of dressing has undergone a remarkable transformation over the years, breaking free from traditional and rigid dress codes to embrace a more modern and versatile approach that can be respected in almost any environment, hence the visuals displayed in the 2 of 5 videos "18:20 Meet Up". Today it reflects the changing dynamics of the professional world combined with style with practicality.
